NY Islanders I.C.E. Tour Continues Its Travels

The summer I.C.E. Tour continued its maiden voyage across Long Island this weekend as it stopped at two more locations to provide some great fun on what was a gorgeous summer day. The first stop of the day was at the Plainview/Old Bethpage Park on Washington Boulevard in Plainview. The beautiful park is home to a summer recreation program that provides various fun activities to over 200 children each day. The children were treated to something very special, as from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the I.C.E. Tour set up all of their interactive inflatables and games for all to enjoy. The children had a blast as they raced through the obstacle course, hopped around in the moonbounce, or went top shelf at the slap shot booth. The Islanders also brought along with them a complete set of Mylec street hockey equipment, and organized street hockey games for the kids to try and teach them the great game of hockey. Sparky and one of the lovely Ice Girls also were on hand, greeting children as they came over to the Islanders RV to get some great giveaways or try their luck on the XBOX 360 the Islanders had brought along.

After the first stop in Plainview, the I.C.E. Tour then headed up to the north shore at the Huntington Beach Club Association to visit the children that attend their summer program. The children were told that a surprise guest would be coming to their program, and when the Islanders vehicles pulled into the parking lot, the children were thrilled. The inflatable rides and games were all set up again, and everyone had a blast. Continuing their efforts to support and grow youth hockey on Long Island, the I.C.E. Tour gave each child in attendance a free street hockey stick, more than 100 in total!
